ABOUT

"This album is lyrically sharp and motivated. The beat selection is impeccable and relevant while trend setting at the same time. Honestly, I gotta say this here is a super dope body of work destined to be deemed a classic project for the culture."

~ Ricky Suede of the Sports Life & Hiphop podcast

Spirit Jaliyaa is a true creative soul who displays a skill level shown only by the elite emcees in the game. That skill combined with hard hitting social commentary and witty wordplay is all unleashed on his 4th studio album: B.L.I.C. (Best Lyricist In Chicago).

Being raised on Chicago's southeast side, like many other inner city youth, he witnessed the poverty, violence and lack of education in the hood. Always self educating and seeking knowledge, his lyrics slowly matured from slick battle raps to uplifting and educating bars

of advancement of the people, without being corny as many emcees before have been successful at one or the other but rarely

both.

In his spare time Spirit, alongside his closest friends, runs the non-profit organization UNTITLED which has done wonders for the local community. His work in the community in addition to his passion for the history, culture and unwritten rules of hiphop, make for a fresh take on what we call a conscious emcee.
